Pantech Marauder Release Date: August 2
Other similar phones: Droid 4
The Pantech Marauder is your parents/grandparents next (or first) smartphone.
Are you looking for a middle of the road/medium to low end smartphone? And do you want to pay $50 more then the Galaxy Nexus (for now at least)? Then the Marauder is the phone for your parents and grandparents!
Yes, this grand/parent friendly smartphone that the Verizon store salesman will sell your parents has 2010 specs with one special grand/parent friendly “killer” feature…it has two modes…one “standard” Android mode and one “starter” mode. What the heck is the starter mode? The Pantech Marauder starter mode has simpler interface with less buttons, less options and a huge phone button so the people new to smartphones and Android phones will be able to have a better and easier experience.
At this time the Marauder will be $50 after a rebate…I’m sure it will drop to $0 quickly. The only problem is that there are lots of other phones ranging from $0 – $200 that are far better.
If you need a physical keyboard, you don’t have much of a choice…you obviously can’t choose one of those dinosaur blackberry phones so you’re left with this and the superior Droid 4.
Yes, we recommend the Droid 4 over the Pantech Marauder. It’s faster, has a better/bigger screen, has a better camera and video camera at 1080p and has a better keyboard just to name a few.
